Visited Ma Kiriteswari Mandir, in Kiriteswar village, Murshidabad. Among 51 Shakti Peethas, thanks to Union Ministry of Culture and PM Shri @narendramodi’s vision of “Vikaas” & “Viraasat” Ma Kiriteswari Mandir and the village has been selected as the Best Tourism Village. Situated in an area replete with history and culture, with Dahapara Dham birthplace of philosopher and saint Prabhu Jagadbandhu Sundar, founder of Mahanam Sampradaya, this selection can open up immense possibilities and opportunities for the people of the area making it a potential tourism and pilgrim hub. Maharaja of Lagola – Lalgoladhipati- Jogendranarayan Roy – reconstructed the temple in 1930. Among one of the most enlightened and governance ruler, Jogindranarayan was an indefatigable patron of culture, education, enterprise and industry. However, a lot of work remains to be done for the place, promises made by the State Govt are yet to be fulfilled and it is hoped and expected that the State Govt will rise to the occasion and take things forward in a non partisan manner.
