“Significance of Pali as India’s Classical Language”: Shri Tarun Chugh national general secretary BJP, as Chief Guest, senior members of the Bikkhu Sangha, Professor Emeritus of Buddhist studies Prof K.T.Sarao from Nalanda University, Ven Prof Medagampitiye Wijithadhamma, Prof Dept of Pali, University of Sri Jayawardhenepura, Sri Lanka & Chief Abbot, Wasabtharama Vihara, Colombo, Ven Dipankara Sumedho, Chairman, Buddhist Cultural Foundation, Ven Dr Khachayan Sraman, general secretary Buddha-Tri Ratna Mission, Bhadant Buddha Kriti, Mahanam Buddha Vihar and a host of scholars from Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia discussed the significance of PM Modi’s declaration of Pali as a classical language and lauded the decision. Ven Wijithadamma of Sri Lanka chanted a specially composed Pali shloka lauding PM Modi for his exemplary contribution to preserve Lord Buddha’s legacy!
